The second week of Southern Vermont Idol continues on July 16. The 13th annual premier amateur singing competition encompasses five weeks – July 9, 16, 23, 30 and August 5 – and is held at the Moose Lodge, 59 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, Vermont.
The 19 contestants who will continue are: London Bremel, Julie Cermola, Rachel Cote, Jennifer Cousineau, Mackenzie Hall, Madison Jacques, David Ramos, Gina Richardson, Izzy Serebrov, Leah Silva and Rachel Spigel from Vermont; and Joshua Delaney, Zoe Ferrin, Lara Germana, Daniel Hartigan, Alexandra Perez, Bailey Tucker, Elizabeth Varone and Colin Whitcomb from New Hampshire. Youth contestants perform in weeks 3 and 4 of the event.
The top four finalists from the teen/adult group have a chance to win the grand prize of $1500 and a full-day recording session at Guilford Sound, a professional recording studio in the foothills of Vermont’s Green Mountains. Second prize is $750, third $500 and fourth $250. The top four youth ages 6-12 will win trophies, cash and prizes. All finalists will be invited to perform on stage during Old Home Days festivities on Saturday, August 6.
Emcee for the event is comedian, singer and entertainer Wade Garrett. Judges for July 16 are Jeanie Levesque of North Walpole, Kelly Darling Snow of Keene and JoJo Mead of Swanzey. Judges’ scores count for 50% and audience scores comprise 50% of total score.

Net proceeds benefit the Rockingham Arts and Museum Project (RAMP), a nonprofit organization in Bellows Falls, Vermont.
